Reports, reconciliation, and tax records
Read business figures in context and understand external tax submission status.
A report needs a scope
Check the period, store or branch, status filters, and currency before comparing figures. Completed sales, recorded payments, refunds, commissions, held amounts, and bank receipts can describe different stages of the same activity.
Reconcile with the underlying records
Use detailed records to explain differences rather than changing a balance to make a summary look right.
- Select the correct location and reporting period.
- Match sales and orders to their recorded tenders or payments.
- Account for refunds, voids, discounts, and pending transactions.
- Review stock movements alongside the physical count.
- Escalate unexplained differences with the source references.
eTIMS and external acceptance
Tax submission requires a properly configured integration and the business's relevant details. Check the external submission state separately from the local sale and receipt. A queue entry, a local PDF, or a successful counter sale does not itself establish acceptance by KRA. Obtain qualified advice for your business's tax obligations.
